Staffordshire cycle club Lichfield City Cycling Club has provided training and racing opportunities for young people in various disciplines of cycle club sport for over 10 years. Many young Staffordshire cyclists who have raced at our Curborough Sprint Circuit have gone onto greater things and we watch their progress with enthusiasm as the Olympic Games in 2012 approach. The passion to develop young people within our club sport continues today amongst our growing Staffordshire cycling club membership. In order to take full advantage of opportunities to develop our young cyclists and to gain the necessary recognition as an area of excellence, Lichfield City Cycling Club gained accreditation to the nationally recognised 'Club Mark' for Cycling Clubs – ‘Go Ride’ in April 2008. We are now officially an Excellent Club !!!
Youth Training @ Curborough The club holds youth training sessions every Thursday at Curborough Sprint Course throughout the summer and Saturday Mornings during the winter (see events calendar) We aim to improve basic cycling skills on the bike and improve fitness but to have fun too. Time is 6:30 until 8:00 (summer) and 11am (winter), all you need is a bike (any sort) in good condition and helmet. Fee is £1:50 per week, with no joining fee. Why not come along and give it a try?
