Emily Nelson takes Silver medal For Lichfield City CC.

^{Lichfield’s Emily Nelson rode a fantastic race which gained her a well deserved podium place in the U14 girls event.}

^{After the first lap Kim English and Lucy Grant (Current Scottish Champion) made a decisive break from the pre-race favourites Grace Garner and Ffion James. English and Grant looked to have wrapped up 1st and 2nd place with nobody making a challenge. However about a lap and a half from the finish Emily Nelson stormed through the field eventually catching the Scottish Champion and then attempted to catch English who was starting to tire. She had the enthusiastic support of all the Midlands crowd but eventually had to settle for the prestigious Silver Medal - only 3 seconds adrift of English at the end! Lichfield City’s Emily Capewell and Isabelle Clarke were placed in the top 20 of the same race.}

^{Other good performances from Lichfield riders were Jacob Kelly who came 9th in the U14 Boys and Alex Welburn, who in his first competitive season, was placed 12th in the U16 boys.}

^{Lichfield’s chief coach Mick Davies just lost out on a podium place being placed 4th in the 50-55 veterans race. David Hirons a first timer at the Nationals had a good performance in the 40-49 vets race.}
